What Is Going on? | January

Every digital reader feels appreciated when they are inspired and get the information concisely. Not an easy task for the writer, especially if the writer is a digital agency or, worse, a digital product studio. But we boldly try to do exactly that nonetheless. We hope that you find the inspiration here, and if you do, you will love the updates along the way. Welcome to monthly “what’sgoingon’s,” or WIGOs for short, from the studio life of Wonder Makers.

Updates

Wonder Makers Have New Home

For as long as we can remember, we had a colleague who worked harder, longer, and without a rest than any of us. But they were a little bit overlooked and, sadly, a bit underloved. We wouldn’t forgive ourselves if we hadn’t changed it. So we gave some love to our main website, completely redesigning it to the best of our design/dev abilities. It was about time. You can show our website some love too, by visiting it.

A 3D star made of glass is dominant on the new Wonder Makers home website. A little wonder out of the hands of our front-end devs is a dominant of the hero section and the whole site.

Showreel, an Experience Like No Other

Furthermore, we are making progress with our company showreel. A format so obvious and basic that we simply had to improvise and push the boundary to the beyond. The first screenshots of a 3D scene are, again, utilizing the star, a teaser to the finished showreel animated in 3D using Unreal Engine 5.

Custom Feedback Tool

Feedback is a good servant but a bad master. When it comes to getting feedback, we get lots of it. But expressing yourself how others can understand is tricky, and going through all of it is time-consuming. So how can we make this easier for us and our clients?

We have started developing our custom feedback tool that solves our mutual problems. A place where feedback can be put where it needs to be and sent where it needs to go.

More Servers, More Fun

We have acquired a new server dedicated to CMS development. That allows us to integrate CMS in parallel with other project parts. That means shorter delivery times and better control over the development phases. We call that a win for our clients.

Highlights

For this month, we chose two highlights. Two red-shaded stallions from our stable of projects. Gaming on Avalanche — a flagship of Avalanche’s gaming Web3 integration network. And Cosimo Ventures — the pioneer of Web3 finance. Both websites represent a different world, but they are all united under one design of the Wonder Makers team.

Exploration

A shout-out to Aleš Holmam, our FE developer, who explored this neat effect of a warping gallery inspired by Takamitsu Motoyoshi.
